FAQ

Q. Are socks important for cancer patients?

A. Yes! Not only are hospitals freezing but side effects from treatment can also cause cold feet. A lot of times too, when a patient is in the hospital, socks are one of the only items of ‘your own’ that can be worn. So we believe they should be fun! Cancer is hard enough.

Q. What kind of socks do you send?

A. We do our best to find the perfect match for the patient (pun intended) - from fuzzy to Lion King, unicorns to pizza, orange to polka dots. This is the very reason a variety of sock donations is always a big need of ours!

Q. are the care packages really free to send?

A. Yes! 100% by design. Cancer is hard and it’s hard for people to know what to do when their loved one is diagnosed. We intentionally want this to be a very easy way for you to step in and show up for the cancer patient in your life in a meaningful way.

Q. i’m fighting cancer, do i have to nominate myself?

A. First, you are our hero. Second, we have a request process just for you! After clicking on, “Care Package Request,” above, select the, “I’m Fighting Cancer,” option.

Q. how much do you love seeing #halliestrong socks in action?

A. So much. We don’t push hard to see them because fighting cancer is enough of a chore but boy, is it such a light for us amidst the dark circumstances that got us here to see Hallie’s legacy of hope in each pair of socks.

Q. are my donations tax deductible?

A. Yes! HallieStrong is a registered 501c3 non profit organization, meaning every dollar you donate is tax deductible. Our EIN is: 82-5505634. Your donations go directly towards furthering Hallie’s footprint of hope on the cancer community!

Q. can i volunteer with halliestrong?

A. Yes! And we need you! We rely 100% on donations to operate. Check out our Volunteer page here to see our biggest needs right now. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, contact us directly

Q. any parting words?

A. Cancer is the absolute worst and until there’s a cure for it all, we are here to serve our cancer community by spreading Hallie’s legacy of hope, one pair of socks at a time. We hope they bring a little light and levity to really impossible circumstance, a simple reminder that you are NEVER alone in the fight for your life!
